Types of electric fence
- Wall-top fences: strands on brackets along the top of a boundary wall, the most common choice for homes.
- Free-standing fences: a full fence line on its own posts, for open boundaries, farms and industrial sites.
- Slanted and angled brackets: lean the strands outward so they're harder to climb over.
What goes into a fence
The energiser powers the fence and raises the alarm when it's cut or shorted. We fit Nemtek and JVA energisers, with battery back-up so the fence stays live during load shedding. The strands, insulators, earth spikes and warning signs make up the rest, and each has to be done properly for the fence to pass its compliance check.
