The details we need
Where we work
Our technicians work out of our own workshop in Northmead, Benoni, and cover the East Rand and the northern suburbs.
- East Rand: Benoni, Boksburg, Kempton Park, Germiston, Alberton, Brakpan and Springs
- North: Johannesburg, Sandton, Bryanston, Midrand and Randburg
Not sure if we reach you? Send us your suburb and we'll confirm before you wait on anyone.
What we repair
- Gate motors. Motors that have stopped, run slow, trip, or grind. Dead batteries, lightning and surge damage, burnt control boards, failed safety beams, remotes and keypads that no longer pair.
- Gates. Gates off their track, worn wheels and rollers, bent or damaged tracks, racks that have come loose, gates that no longer run freely by hand.
- Garage doors and openers. Broken or frayed cables, doors hanging crooked or closing skew, worn rollers and drums, damaged panels and slats, motors and wall buttons that have stopped.
- Electric fences. Energisers that have failed or keep alarming, broken and shorting strands, earth faults, fences that trip in the rain, and the certificate of compliance when you need one.
- Intercoms and access control. Handsets and gate stations that have gone quiet, keypads and tag readers that stopped reading, maglocks that no longer hold.
- Boom gates. Snapped booms, faulty loop detectors and barrier motors, whatever make they are.
Brands we repair
On gates: Centurion, including older models that are no longer sold, plus Gemini, Nice Hansa, ET, DTS and most other makes. On garage doors: Centurion, DC Blue, Digidoor and Gemini. Our own workshop is the reason we can still work on equipment the manufacturers stopped supporting years ago, when the usual answer is a quote to replace the lot.
Repair or replace
If it can be fixed, we will say so, even though the replacement is the larger invoice. If it is past economic repair we will tell you that straight and quote the replacement instead, with the reason. What we will not do is replace something that only needed a battery.
Servicing is what stops the repair
A gate or a garage door is like a car: servicing prolongs its life, keeps it working as designed, and heads off the expensive breakdown at the worst possible moment. Manufacturers recommend a service at least once a year at home, and every three to six months on a busy commercial system.
A service covers alignment and tensioning, the wheels, rollers, tracks and gears, the motor, battery and power supply, the control board and its sealing against insects, and the safety beams, remotes and keypads.
Complexes and estates
We look after complexes, estates and commercial sites on a set visit schedule under a service level agreement with agreed response times, so gates, booms and roller shutters are serviced before they fail rather than after. Most complex gate failures we are called to were avoidable: a flat battery, worn wheels or a dirty track, all of which a routine visit picks up.
